Couldn't agree more! Great group of people on the .org for the most part, a lot of the advice here has proven to be invaluable.

internetautomar, good luck on the Alti info search. Those 2007 Altima's are pretty sweet! I love the RFID ("Intelligent Key") and pushbutton start.

It's not just one thing, so I'll list a few, not in any particular order.

1) People - There are veterans on this board that have been around for a very long time and know their stuff. I really learned a lot about my car and visiting this forum has been very educational/helpful. The demographics of Maxima owners in general, I believe, is more comprised of people that like to drive. I have a Camry also, and while it's a very fine car, it's anything but exciting to drive.

2) Maxima - We have to give Nissan credit for making the car in the first place. It's a unique car, ahead of it's time. While not perfect, it's fun to drive, reliable, and does many things well. It's the only car I've owned that I've driven more than 100,000 miles.

3) Aftermarket - It's not like a Honda aftermarket, but there's still plenty of things out there to make it go faster, stop better, corner faster and a whole lot more.

It's not only that, but while I have never owned a 4th or 5th gen, it seems to me that the 3rd genners are a smaller and more tight-knit group of enthusiasts...
I have been on a few other car forums: for jeeps and corvettes and the are not nearly as caring and helpful as this forum can be.

Oh, by the way, Brian, I will be in town this weekend, as well as Monday.

We have to be, since we (all ~20 of us) keep buying up every 3rd gen in our respective areas as parts cars

ironically people trash this forum all the time. b1tch about how management is running things. complain about the mods etc etc. a good one is the complaints about no search and people who are not willing to donate the $20 to get search feature.

the best one of all time is they think i get paid to be a mod here.

from time to time i still see the "error in the database" bs on other forums and chuckle that we used to have those errors all the time here but not anymore.

Well from a user level, most of the mods on this forum (I’m not trying to start anything ) are very harsh compared to other forums I visit.

Now this forum is much more active/helpful so it's a small price to pay IMO.

Although it’s nice to kick back on my other forums and relax.

I cant speak for all, but I think most mods wont perma ban a donating member unless he/she really crosses some lines.

We all need to donate for different reasons. I did so I can use the OT to kill time at work and also to search, since there is a long history with my gold maxima coming from Maxtuned (need to see what all he did to her before I got it.)

if you intend to start problems on the forum then i believe on any forum a mod will ban you maxima.org or not. why are you afraid to get banned? are you looking to cause some problems here?

but seriously..we have many many members here that never got hit w/ the ban stick.
keep conversations civil and on topic and you'll never have any issues with getting banned.

lol, i think *part* of the problem is human in nature, in that conversations get heated without intention and it goes and goes until someone says something...

I forget the statistic but its something like 50% of all online communication is misinterpreted, either partially or entirely.

Sarcasm is rarely transmitted correctly via the interweb.

Um you can't have it both ways. You want to know why this section of .org rocks above all others? Because we keep the info flowing and the BS down. You want this to be some free for all forum filled with crap, OT material and flaming? Fine. But don't complain when you can't find info that you really need. Which way do you want it?

Well I love this site. I got a 93 MAx SE and as it gives me problems because of the age you all keep supplying information that is very helpful. To know I dont have the slightest clue about changing brakes and shocks and springs but with this website i have assisted someone greatly on doing it. Im not to car oriented but thats all changing when I get on the site. What are the other perks of donating the 20 dollars?

IMO, for the most part, this car is/was very popular so obviosly there are gonna be alot of people who really know their stuff about this bad boy. I havn't worked on many cars mechanically, but these seem pretty tech friendly, which could also play a role. And of course, last but not least, we are very fortunate to have the long time members we have, and the experiences they have gained over the years are unmatched. I am always very confident in what I read on here, compared to the garbage I heard on the outside about this car. My favorite is the VE being alluminum, and the guy swore to death on it.

Depends...Where's byron? and what time are they going? I am doing my business part of the trip on monday, and partying with some of my boyz over the weekend. If I'm not hung over too bad, sure, I'll go...Are you going to the drags?

Personally I'm not going because I haven't installed anything on my car yet.
Y-pipe and toks are still in the garage. i also need a new tire on the front (broken cord).

byron is a bit of a way away from me and john, but there will be several maxs running. I wish I could.
