MAF cleaning ???
MAF cleaning ???
Anyone cleaned their MAF lately? Any noteable difference??
CRC has this new MAF cleaner:

In the carburator days, the inside body had to be cleaned once a while to remove varnish. Wouln't a squeaky clean MAF do a better job for the ECU?

MAF Sensor Cleaning
I owned a '95 Tbird 4.6 L V8 for 10 years before I bought the Max. A few years ago, I installed an Amsoil permanent foam air filter in the 'bird. The MAF was just downstream of the air cleaner box. A few months after putting in the filter, I noticed a gradual decrease in performance. Since I couldn't figure out what was wrong, I took it to a mechanic, who cleaned the MAF with some kind of solvent. The power was back; problem solved. Apparently, the oil from the filter migrated into the sensor and clogged it up. Needless to say, I returned to using the stock paper filters.
