hold the remote a few inches away from the mirror and hold both the button that you want to program it to and the remote for about 20-30 seconds...it will flash slowly and once programmed it flashes rapidly which is when you can let go of both buttons

hope this helps

Haunt, forgive me,

Prjct,

Keep your laughs to yourself, because I already know I deserve them!

I had my mirror replaced by Nissan. The Homelink button was peeling off, paint wise.

The service man said it took him a bit to get the car to me because he was calibrating the compass. Eric watched him....closely.

That was over a week ago. I was getting aggrivated because my mirror would go between 'c' and an actual direction.

Finally last night I went to a huge parking lot and spun my three circles counter clockwise and wait for it to reset.(Rather, I spun my three circles in the car, not just me outside spinning the circles mind you) It did, but I still wasn't convinced that it solved my issue, so I whipped out the manual, read it and realized the service guy may have spun circles, but he didn't select the correct region on the map! I don't live in region 8-Tennessee or GA.

SO I reset it to 9 (SC). I spun my three circles and it tracked right away, and even faster than my last mirror!

Just had to share! Promise I'm not a blonde!

clear the memory which requires you holding the 1st and 3rd button i believe with the same process as stated before....not positive on this but i'm pretty sure that's how you clear the memory

I also don't know why you would have to clear the memory because I would assume that the new remote would jsut over-ride the signal or w/e was there before with the old remote.

I have tried so many times and it just doesn't work. Does it just not work with my garage doors? I have gotten new ones and with my previous cars, they had worked with my previous garage doors.....

Any ideas?

Maybe. Program the homelink button on your mirror as described above. For my garage doors, I had to do some additional steps. Look on your garage door opener (the actual motor), there is probably a red button. You need to press this button and then press the homelink button in your car (for mine I had 30 seconds to do this).

Hope this helps, thats what I did and it worked for me.

I have also heard that if you have a 'rolling code' for your garage, programming can be a bear. On some older models, it isn't possible to program your Homelink.

By 'rolling' I mean that it is digitized to create new codes every so many seconds. The older garage doors allowed you to chose the code by literally entering a code in the receiver as well as the ceiling mounted motor housing!

I had to do the same thing, but after that, it works great.. just have to hold the button for at least half a second.. can't just touch it and open.

I am going to try that. Instead of using a ladder, I'll pull my max under the garage door motor, and open the sunroof. Haha.

Yeah, I've got one of those rolling code deals. It might take 2 or 3 trys but, the homelink will eventually learn.

mine works on normal garage doors(from 20 yr old models to new ones).... but i cant get it to work on my condo (common) garage doors.... the remote for my condo looks like a normal one... but the security folks have to "program" it.

anyone here living in a condo... managed to get theirs to work?
