tranny slipping????? need input please

i have a 2000 maxima se automatic with about 130,000 miles. i am the original owner and have had tranny flushes annually, so about every 25,000 miles.
recently i hear the engine briefly revving hi going from 1 to 2 gear. above that, i don't know cuz of road noise.
is that what's called tranny slip? is that normal for a auto? if so, what can i do to fix it? is it as simple as changing the fluids again, or do i have to have it rebuilt?
i tried searching the forum, but most people seem to focus on the fluids. besides which, i'm not even sure if what i've got is tranny slip.

please advise.

thanks.

Sounds like the TCM or solenoids if its only from first to second. Research it further on here. I don't think those parts are abnormally expensive.

Sorry not to start a different topic for this, but the board won't let me. Gotta love spammers eh? Anyway, my mom drives a 2000 Maxima GXE with an automatic. Check Engine came on and I told her to have the parts store pull the code and it is P1605, which is a communication line for the auto tranny. I looked in the FAQ, but a lot of the links were broken for TSB's, so I'm not sure if this is part of the typical tranny problems or not.

Can anybody give some insight or point me in the right direction?

holy hijackin,.. ok well to the OP.. my only answer for you would be to try a new MAF,.. i would bet anything that is your problem,.. based on what you say,.. because the MAF wont throw codes and slipping will be a big issue from a bad MAF,.. and it will rev funny in between gears ect ect,.. i was skeptical myself at first but it turned out to be the best 100 bucks i spent on the car so far,.. i bet alot of peolpe on here would agree

Sair, you are way out of warranty by time. They probably will not cover it.
maxottawahi How can we help you?? Sounds like either the rebuild shop didn't do a good job or you are to hard on the car. I don't think anyone here can explain how to rebuild a trans if that's what you are asking. Most shops offer a 12/12 warranty, you should check your paper work.
To the OP, I beleive there is another bulletin for a reflash for a 1-2 slip @ 1/2 throttle for different affected vins. If you need to replace the solenoid, tell the place that does the service to check for shavings when they pull the trans pan, if shavings come out you will need more than just solenoids.
Also warranty labor is 1.4 hours. When calling to get a price to have this done make sure they don't jack the labor up on you. Out of warranty labor is probably no more than 2.1/2.2 hours. (Some shops will jack up the time and bid the job out at 3-4 hours because it sounds complicated.)
