Subtle whistling noise at idle. Vacuum leak?

Just curious if anyone has experienced a slight whistling noise. This can be heard when you are idling and sitting still. Sometimes it changes pitch when you turn the steering wheel OR give it the gas.

My suspicion is there may be a slight vacuum leak that is causing it. How do you check for such a leak? (Spray test or something?)

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

it is a leak, spray some break parts cleaner near all of the VAC areas and you should find it. or you can have fun with your car and dissasemble it.

ya i have the same problem. you can try spraying throttle body cleaner, brake parts cleaner, i think even wd-40 will work in areas until you hear the engine struggle. i just haven't found mine yet.

I have a whistling that only occurs at a certain throttle position, around 1/2, in all gears. It varies in pitch a bit as you press the throttle a little past 1/2 then stops completely. I'm not sure what it might be. I have no whistle at idle, though.

if it changes when you turn your wheel it could be your power steering pump. sometimes they whine.
