Weight...

How many have taken out their subs/amps/whatever from their trunk and feel like their car is completely different? I just took out 66lb's worth of audio, and my car feels so much more responsive. Anyone else experience such a difference? Is 66lb's enough to notice a difference in every day driving?

even 50lb's in the trunk can make a slight diffrence in performance. 66 is quite alot plus the car will take more gas with extra load in the trunk. thats why i dont keep any heavy equipment in my trunk. i even wish i could get rid of that spare TIRE.

How would you manage if your tire goes flat on the road?

Rule of thumb every 100lbs taken off the car's weight will shave appox. a tenth of second off the quarter mile time.

When i took out my 2 audiobahn 12's in my audiobahn box, i think it is about 70lbs. I noticed the car felt a lot more responsive especially in low rpm like when taking off. When i took out my spare, jack, and all the other crap in my trunk (surprisngly a lot) I think when rougly added it was around 140-150lbs.

isnt spare tire important when it comes to flat tire situation?
the factory spare is always thinner and smaller than the regular tire. so i dont think that 35lbs spare tire can affect the performance.

I'm all about better gas mileage, but I draw the line when it comes to tossing the spare tire.

I wonder how much weight you could eliminate, though, if you pulled the carpet and passenger seats...
