Do a compression check on the motor or have it done then post up the numbers. Thats the only real way to check the condition of the motor.

Does it burn oil ?

I didnt supercharge till 133,000 and alot of guys on the board wait till over 100,000. 120,000 isnt bad at all as long as you did the regular maintance on the motor.

as long as your engines strong and you have been taken care of the car, theres no reason why your car couldent handle one.

Thanks. No, I don't have Matty's starter kit. I bought my kit new back when it was available. V2 blower on a V2 plate. No problems whatsoever here. Gas mileage will be the same as before, assuming you drive normal. Lay into a lot, and of course the gas mileage will go down.

"Lots of problems" is a bit of an exaggeration. A lot of it I think IMO has to do with the installation, especially the semi-complex tensioner assembly and pulley. There are plenty of threads in the SC/Turbo forum discussing this.

Back on topic, I say go for it! Supercharge it after a full tune up and compression check.

thanks im definitly going to do just a matter of time and finding the help of someone to install this has done it before. i would rather get my hands into the installation that way if something happens i can have some kind of idea of whats goin on. Do you think the vortech v2 blower is more reliable than the v1 ? or is just a matter of sound? I know the V1 is louder.

With Ptatohed's writeup, and all of us on the org, you'll be just fine. V2 blower is just as reliable as V1, only quiter.

cool thanks for the info. I guess as far as boosting goes if i stay with the stock pulley i should be safe? i dont want to add to much boost and wind up blowing something up is the stock pulley 3.6 correct?

You'll be more than safe with the 3.61 pulley. Absolutely nothing to worry about at 6psi.

so im guessing the smaller the pulley the more boost you get? i notice people also go with different spark plugs one step colder?? does this really help at all? and with what?
