Surging Cruizin Control....Pathy TB
Im still having the IDLE surging problem, that I have fixed yet. Waiting for a warm day and some time. I do have a little problem with the CC. Not a big deal but read on.
Anyone with a Pathfinder TB have problems with surging when they use CC ?? I was on my way home last night from a trip and i tried it and its kind of annoying. It stays at the desired MPH, but it surges enough to notice. If I look at my Vaccum gauge, it goes from -20 normal, to about -10 then right back to -20....then back up -10 about 5 seconds later....
It may have something to do with the pathfinder TB. Its really not a big deal, but i wanted to know what you guys think

idk for sure if I have it but since my swap I've felt something different when the CC is on. Possibly very small surging not noticeable to others just me. Seems like this damn PF tb is causing more problems than anything on my swap. Too bad I can't swap to 5th gen tb.
i have used 2 different pathy TB's of the 4 years or so ive had them on my car. I had initial problums that have been worked out (TPS) years ago.
I get a surging when iam up to speed with CC but only when elevation changes back and forth and the throttle is put down then stoped it causes the surging i just cancel the CC and reingauge.
But on semi-flat highway its perfect i get 0 problums.
only problum i have is i have to hold the gas down to start because i took the IACV entire assembly off (actually sitting next to me now while iam typing) so i could run without midpipe and IACV adapters .
i plan on going MAP with EU

Next time you get a chance to look under the hood, check and make sure the throttle cable and the cruise control cable that go to the throttle body have the same amount of slack in them. Many times when switching out TB's people will snug up the throttle cable but leave the CC cable untouched with slack in it. The CC constantly pulls and lets go of the cable in order to maintain speed, and when a lot of slack is in that cable it will cause a sensation of a lot of surging. The changes in vacuum that you are seeing( caused by accelerating) is caused by the temporary strong tug on the CC cable with slack in it. That is why it gives a sensation of surging b/c it has to pull the cable so much more and then has to let it back out once it overcompensates.
