The guy said he beat an S4?... I seriously doubt it and I have driven both cars stock and with mods. And the Formula 1 driver who says he beat a CLK55 no F**K**G way the car has 341+hp alone in stock trim and even with an average driver, he would get that a** waxed.

gotta disagree with y'all
S4's are hella fast in 6M form, but they're about the same speed as a CL-S or a 5-spd Max in 5A form. Stock they "only" have 250HP and all of them come with the Quattro AWD system. The 6M weighs in at 3600lb and the 5A weighs 3700lb - 100-200lb heavier than the CL-S with 10HP less stock.
Most of the lightning fast S4's you hear about are "chipped" and making 300HP+, but if it was stock performance wise and an auto then the CL-S guy might not have been b.s.ing.
The 5th Gen Max 5-spd, CL-S, and S4/auto are all very very close performance wise.

True the S4 has the weight disadvantage but the torque it pushes out and the awd it is much better then the CL, to me the S4 is the better car in stock trim, now compared to a 5th Gen 5-speed? I have an auto so you are the expert there ..... PEACE..

But on the highway you don't need very much traction and the extra weight is really just dead-weight that slows you down. If it's an S4/auto (that's stock) it could be very close between a CL-S and a 5-spd Max.
The mag numbers for S4's, especially the manual models are sorta misleading. They're very fast, but it's because those numbers are obtained by being VERY abusive on the drivetrain with 4000-5000rpm sidestep launches and letting Quattro sort out traction. Repeated launches like that can damage the tranny and even break motor mounts. S4/6m's can be as fast as the driver wants to be abusive

It's not possible to do that with the auto tranny, though, and the numbers are very similar to a Max 5-spd and a CL-S: high-6's to 60mph, and high-14s 1/4 mile ET's. The CL-S is capable of that or at least very close to it stock, and the 5-spd Maxima is as well when driven by a capable driver. Between the 3 cars I'd say the S4/auto is the fastest, with the CL-S and 5-spd Max right behind it, but close enough that it could go either way - as long as the race isn't from a stop (giveaway to the S4)
as for that CL-S guy
he said he was racing him in traffic. It wasn't even a real race where they lined up. He just said that the S4 never passed him.
Hell, I've beaten some very fast cars in my Accord V6 "IN TRAFFIC" LOL!!
It's not like they lined up at speed and went at it in a confirmed race on the third honk or something...
My Accord V6 has enough oomph that I can hold my own with just about any car when you're running traffic and doing that sort of thing. That's more a race against the driver and how well they can run traffic rather than a race against an actual car.
You're racing a driver, not a car, in that sort of race. So the CL-S guy beat the S4 driver, and not the S4 car itself...

I've got to agree with the Accord guy. It is very possible for a TL-S/CL-S/Maxima to hang with a S4. If you look at most S4 trap speeds, they are in the 97-98mph range. The TL-S/CL-S/Maxima can all come within a few mphs of that. What you guys are SORELY missing out on is that the S4 is VERY dependant on an abusive launch. If the driver doesn't do a 4500+ rpm clutch drop, he's not running low 14s. MT tested a S4 and babied it off the line with a 2000rpm launch and only ran a 15.0. Hell, I've run 15.0s with a 2000rpm launch. Think about guys. It's entirely believable. I've raced a gentlemen's S4 who works in the floor above me. He couldn't pull on me from a 30mph roll and from a stop I got a great launch and he didn't pull. If my lowly 4th gen Max could hang with a S4, I don't see why a TL-S/CL-S couldn't.
I'm just pointing out who much driving matters with an S4.
