Emissions in VA, ECU not ready.

I figured I'd ask the all motor heads cuz you probably have a precise answer....

I got the "not ready" on the four main tests for emissions (the main one being the catalyst). This is most likely because the car battery died over night (reset ecu logs) and I only drove 25 miles before going to emissions.

After "not ready" I drove 75 more miles to reach 100, but the ECU still was "not ready".

How many mile do you need to drive before the ecu is "Ready"?

PS: I have a 97 with vq35, but I'm running a 96Technosquare ECU.... could this be the problem? I know 97+ is OBD2, but are the 96 ECUs?

All 95+ ECU are OBDII.

Are you sure the rear o2 is working properly?

Did you ever hook up the SMT-6? Having that installed will cause the o2 sensor and cat converter systems to not goto ready. I had to wire the ECU back to stock, so I could pass emissons testing here.

I have the SMT wired in, but I'm running the bypass harness board instead of the SMT unit. Is this still going to make mine not ready?

When you rewired back to stock did you use extra lengths of wire?

ps: the O2 sensors are different on 97+, but if that was the issue I would probably have a CEL right ?(which i don't).
