Low end torque

I really want low end torque and the only things I can think of would be to do to achieve this is a 2.25" exhaust and a underdrive pulley. Is there anything else I can get to improve this? thanks

Low end torque? Nothing aside from more displacement. Explain low end (RPM range)

The VQ30 has plenty of bottom range torque from the factory, just don't go modifying the intake system or you'll just shift you powerband upwards. Exhaust mods will increase mid and top range power but the underdrive pulley won't do much for your needs. In fact, the underdrive pulley will were out your main bearings quicker. I had one on a different car until, I pulled motor apart.

Also, if you're one of those people that shift at 2000 rpm, start shifting around 3000-3500 rpm, you'll start noticing better acceleration and better fuel economy for not bogging your motor.

Oh ok I was shifting around 2500k and I am only getting about 22 mpg and I couldn't believe it, Ill try shifting higher, but what I'm talking about is the engine doesn't seem to get up and move until about 4500 rpm and I was wondering what I could do to improve the range around 2500k.

Ya I guess thats it. I used to have a mustang even though it was also it a six it gave you a kick in the pants. But with a fwd I am getting better traction and the rear end isnt flying away from the rest of the car.

No matter. Peak numbers don't mean much. It destroys us in the torque/pound ratio as well as area under the curve. That's why it's significantly faster, stock for stock, despite the higher weight.

We ARE talking about the 4.6l right?

so you want more low end torque = increasing standard torque reading at earlier rpm

or

you want more response at lower rpm?

I haven't seen changing exhaust will increase your torque at low rpm, but they certainly will at much higher rpm, if done correctly. Otherwise, the easiest way is to change displacement, or strap a supercharger kit on it.

If you want more response, strip your interior, make the car as light as possibke and you get better response.

you won't find that much low end with bolt ons. Come to think of it, all the goods mods I can think of that give power and not bolt on. You need to custom. Gaining power isn't really a cheap task. Y pipe and new headers would be a start.

put adjustable cam gears on and back off the cam timing. this might get you more torque, but it will be a dog in upper RPM's
