Currently have a '99 auto SE (wouldn't have guessed by my username) Anyway, I NEED MORE POWER. I like the 225 HP of the 5th gen so, considering the cost what would you guys suggest? Perhaps a GXE to save some $ and I can add my own stuff later? Further should I wait for the 240 HP '02 Altima?

 

I had a 99 SE auto and bought a '01 SE 5-spd a month ago. The intrest rates/rebates are VERY good right now for '01 Maximas. I am glad I changed. The engine power is good and the ergonomics are MUCH better. I thought about the Altima, but I am not one for buying a first year model and the intrest rates will be high. They do look good though!

 

222 hp 5th gen, 227hp A.E. SE . 260hp 2002 Max. Yeah the GXE route is where I'm at, time to mod.

 

5th gen Maxima all the way.... 222 ponies on all models except 20th ae which is 227...
