shopvac?

how much do shopvacs cost? i wanna put the OSCAI together soon, w/ help from Serin, but i went to Home Depot today to get sum of the stuff needed for the OSCAI, and the only 3" shopvac they had was 7' long and cost almost $20...is that right? i know i need a coupler(s), but how big or whatever, cuz i saw quite a few of those too....also, what else do i need?
