vafcii broken?

About to install a 2nd hand vafcII and powered it up just to have a look.. well the wheel turns a red/yellow color and theres no display.. is that normal?

I'm hoping it just needs sensor input .. but thought display would come on anyway.

I have an old vafc 1 I just tested it out. If only one ground is hooked up the orange lights will come on only. If both grounds hooked up the unit comes on. In the installation instructions both ground must be hooked up. One is black the other is brown.

Nothing worse than hacking the ecu wiring to find out it didn't go, thanks.

HAd same problem with my SAFCII. Wires up almost the same way. There are VERY SPECIFIC directions on wiring the ground wires.

Don't use that wire. Get a wideband sensor because the stock sensor won't give you the readings you want to tune.

Does it matter which order the postive wires go in? in the vafc ecu diagram it shows 2 postive wires but doesn't say which goes closest to ECU the RED one or Red wire with Black stripe? Doesn't it matter like it does with the ground wires (black & brown?)

I know its not accurate but would like O2 feature to show 'something' I have looked briefly at WB02 but the systems are all very expensive, I think I would break even with a dynotune cost ($NZ350/$US268) for the amount of tuning I would need.

So I want to hook it up and not tune with it, can I splice the o2 sensor or no you think?
