5speed swap FINALLY done.. wheres the TCM?

Soooooo after spending a long time doing this swap and several speed bumps its come to the point where im driving it 5speed style. woohoooo
But litterally all my instrument panel lihgts are on (ABS, TCS OFF, SLIP, airbag and SES) I figure the ecu is looking for an auto tranny and not finding one and i havent reset the computer yet either. So i want to unplug the TCM, which i read in someones thread, is underneath the BCM and plugs into a wide blue connector. I dont have anything under the bcm and ther.e is no blue connector that i can see.
Does anyone have any clues as to where the TCM would be on a 1999 (canadian) maxima SE?

It is indeed under the BCM. It will be easier to get to and unplug if you remove the BCM (don't need to unplug it, just get it out of the way). Just remove the three 10mm nuts holding the two boxes in the holding bracket and slide them out of the bracket. Then you can unplug the TCU and remove it from the car for some weight savings

I just finished my swap yesterday and i love the 5-speed. We unplugged the whole tranny computer that is behind the ash tray and im not getting any lights on my dash, but I do have two codes. But those aren't very important.

TCM or no, the airbag light shouldn't be on. Not too sure about the ABS light either, unless that ties in with the TCS system and is lit when 'TCS OFF' and 'SLIP' are.

Like Tatanko said, it should be underneath the BCM behind the radio. Can you take a picture of where it should be? Weird that it's not there.

Anyone know just how deeply the TCS system ties into the TCM? I'm not sure how TCS works on the A32 (since it was only available one year), if it's braking, timing retard, upshifting, etc.

TCS = ABS sensor related, (i.e. difference in wheel speed re: all 4 different wheels)

How does it enforce traction control though? Brake application, engine power output control, or something else?

I'm guessing fuel.

This system is designed to limit wheel slip during acceleration by cutting fuel to selected cylinders and changing transmission shift schedule. I'm guessing it's the same for A32's. A33B's also get DBW feedback as well as fuel.

I heard the 5 speeds in the 4th gens went out easily. Is there any truth to that?

So yea, the tcm was under the bcm. I could see it the whole time but i was going by the fact that pictures ive seen on here showed 1 long, blue plug. Mine had 2 smaller, white plugs plugged into it. But i did a search on the part number written on the metalic box and it turns out it is the TCM.

My ABS,TCS OFF, and SLIP lights are still on. I'm starting to think that either its because i have the automatic speed sensor in my 5speed tranny (mine didnt come with one, long story) or because i damaged an ABS sensor during the swap.
Airbag light went off after i reset the ECU.

That's why all those lights are on.

Turns out i forgot to plug in one of the ABS sensors in. I had so many plugs left over after the swap (from th auto tranny) i guess the ABS one just blended in and i forgot it about it lol.
The TCS,SLIP and ABS lights are all off now. Which is kind of reassuring since i was afraid i would lose traction control but i guess its a function of the brake system and not transmission
