How to wire side markers to blink with blinkers
How to wire side markers to blink with blinkers
One question, didn't find it in the 4-G HowTos. (Maybe I missed it)
Corners and side markers both work for night. I have seen some members wired their side markers with blinkers thus long blinkers form. Could someone please do a writeup?
Thanks.....

You cant wire up whats there to do that. You could wire the 194 parking light blink in sync with the 1156 blinker but it wont be lit with the parking lights. Just cut the 2 wires off the parking light and connect it to the blinker wires. Or you could wire it to blink alternately with the blinker and it will function normally as a parking light. To do that you need to cut one wire on the parking light and connect it to one wire on the blinker. Too bad I dont remember which wires they are off the top of my head.
Without getting into dual filament bulbs or more bulbs that all that can be done.

if this is what your talking about follow this thread>>>> http://www.vqpower.com/v2/readarticle.php?article_id=57
So simple. I personally don't like the side marker lights, so I wired it so they're never on unless the blinker is being used.
Be aware that you're manipulating wire harnesses, so understand how everything works and goes together first, just in case you decide to return to stock.
1. Cut the harness wires leading to the side light as far back as you can (so you have a lot of wire to work with). Wire strip the resulting ends so you have bare wire.
2. Cut the wires leading to the front blinker about in the middle. Again, wire strip the ends.
3. Twist both cut ends of one of the wires of the front blinker harness. Twist the matching colored wire coming off of the side harness as well. Electrical tape the twist of wire well.
4. Do step 3 to the other color wire.
5. Repeat on the other side of the car.
The rewire works perfectly and looks like it should. IMO it cleans up the front end, only having the headlight and adjacent marker light lit (I don't have fogs).

So, did you mean that I should put the blinkers and parking lights in parallel? I thought about that, but I was afraid that the fuse on the blinkers would not hold. Thanks, Guys.....
