00vi/mevi? wtf?

can someone post what a 00vi and a mevi look like.. i have no idea what they are. i looked in the stickies and said that a mevi is a "middle east varible intake" and i dont know what an 00vi is its gotta be a varible intake as well im assuming. anyways yea. if you could that'd be awesome thanks guys.

oh yea also why are they soo expensive?!!

they refer to the intake manifold. The big silver thing on top of your engine. Check some of the other sub forums like all motor and such to find other stickies on MEVI/00vi, they are there.

an 00vi is a 2000 variable intake referring to the upper intake manifold of a 2000 maxima

are thoes variable intakes really worth the time and trouble of swaping? are the hp gains really that strong?

Nope, everyone generally likes to do the swaps for looks. You actually lose about ~25whp with each of them, but they make the engine bay look so awesome and we've got enough power as it is, that it's a worthy trade off.

Performance? Keep the USIM and get a WAI that keeps the filter right next to the front exhaust manifold.

the answer to that question can very opinionated. If your looking to squeeze every ounce of power out your engine witout going to FI, then its worth it. The gains differ between the 00vi and the MEVI, but there are entire threads dedicated to that subject so do your research.

I'm sure somebody out there belived what you said.

For everyone reading this with the same question as the OP check the all motor forum and read the stickies. You'll learn ALOT!

On a side note my gf even knows what a 00vi is.
