I just got my Max about 3 weeks ago... I've been tracking gas mileage like a hawk. My driving is mostly city, or being stuck in traffic, with about 20-40% free highway roaming. I have a '99 SE-L, equipped like a GXE though, 5spd.

Worst mileage to date... about 17MPG. This was when I first got the car, and had about 3 dead ignition coils and a blinking SES.

My best to date was about 22MPG... highway run to a Honda Accord meet, no traffic, but I hit 120 at some points.

Right now I'm getting about 21MPG, trying to take it easy... shifting 1-3-5, usually in 5th unless I have to stop or accelerate heavily. Not bad for basically city mileage, but I think I can do better.

What kind of mileage are you guys getting?

Yes, it useful, it's 200+ posts about who gets what sort of mileage. How is it not useful? Search, everything maintenance-wise and driving habits to get the best gas mileage are discussed around here quite often.

 

My money's on this one is headed down that same road.
