SES light disappeared?

I got my car about a month ago and it had a few P1320 codes. I took it to the dealer and they fixed the problem. I was running the car hard upstate in the mountains and the SES came on again. The car was running OK, better than when I got it, but not 100%. I was driving today and noticed the car was smoother, and noticed the light went away.

What's the deal? I heard that when the car detects a misfire it retards timing and waits 500 miles or so and if there is no misfire it clears the code on its own. The question is, what would cause that misfire?

Same thing happened to me. The code goes away for like 200 something and comes back. (Nissan thought it would annoy ppl if it were to be on 24-7) so it goes away after a while but it will come back in like 200something miles or more.
