can't get my new "jvc kw-avx800" to turn on

so i bought the jvc along with the PAC ROEM-NIS2, and now i've got it all hooked up but the stereo won't power up. but the when the stereo is plugged in the antenna goes up. i checked all the fuses and double checked my connections to the pac. i'm really at a loss, please anybody got any help/suggestions? anything. the only thing i don't have plugged in is the big black plug for the antenna, but that shouldn't keep it from comin on should it?

Sounds like you didnt ground the unit. It need to be via the frame, not through the harness.

Antenna Adaptor can be had at any shop or even BestBuy/Circuit City

The harness ground is non existant - goes to nothing and is not an actual ground.

yeah!!! i got it grounded and it's now powering up, it doesn't pick up radio because of no adapter but it works.

second problem though, i've got no sound. any ideas? the pac adapter has two positives for each speaker; one labeled hi, and one labeled lo, i connected to the hi. should i be connected to the lo? i'm leary about frying anything.
