AVN5500 Radio Reception boost

How would I go about getting a better radio signal? As most of you know, the 4th gen has an antenna in the rear window and the external antenna. Well I removed the external antenna a while back. Reception was still decent with my CD5435. I have had the AVN5500 for a while now, almost a year. I rarely listen to the radio but now I would like to listen to the radio more but the reception sucks ***, worse than all the other cars I have driven w/o an external antenna(G35 Mazda6 Accord).

How can I get a better reception?

No, I have had it off over a year and I did not have bad reception with my CD5435, the AVN has very ****ty reception compared to my old unit.

Either way most new cars do not have an external antenna, so is there an antenna booster? Or should I look for one off another nissan?

I would add it to the rear window since I have the Viper remote antenna on the front windshield

every "antenna booster" I have ever come across has never worked, I'd plug them in and it was as if they weren't there. No difference at all. I think if you want radio you might just have to bite the bullet and get some sort of an external antenna.. or maybe try a different deck (some work better than others for some reason). You could try one of those Euro VW style antennas, they look pretty cool (like a shark fin), but I cant garuntee they'll work real well either..

ever think about getting xm or sirius? def. worth it.

It seems very hard to find a good looking antenna, thats why I posted that window mount one.

No XM, I have the latest songs on my cd's but I like listening to the local stations every now and then to hear what they have to say...
