I've seen these at Pep Boys. They have 6 different "notes"
ranging from A to F. I want a normal sounding horn like
one from a traditional sounding GM car. Which one(s)
do I buy?

Why do Japanese and Korean cars come with the weak sounding beep horns?

How about upgrading to the I30 horn. Anyone attempted this. Nice solid sound, not the Meep Meep Hi! sound

I realize this is an old thread but here it goes..

If you want to save a few bucks and a slight pain of install leave the front horn on. Disconnect and remove the horn on the left side of the engine bay. Install the lower note on the side one (if you look closely on the package it says high note or low note). That will save you money and having to install the other horn in the front which is another high note anyways.

If you don't like the sound you can always change the front one later but there isn't going to be that much difference IMO.

That would be asking for a ticket now wouldn't it.

No...no...be nice. But if someone asks for it, some punk in a red Celica, then "go crazy"

Asian car horns are weak because Asians as a people are less abrasive and more cautious and sedate than you loud-mouth complaining Americans Therefore, our car makers use quieter horns, so as not to be offensive. Horns are for signalling and warning, not scaring or getting revenge on the punk who cut you off.
