Dave B. tried them on his 2000 and said they will fit. He said they are tight, so it would be easier to remove some clips from the bumper to get more flexibility. But the biggest concern of if there would be room for the HID ballasts is NO MORE. He said they fit down into the open space of the bumper.
Now we just have to convince Dave to loan me one, so I can figure out the wiring. Which shouldn't be a problem.

If this works out, I'd say it has to be one of the best bang-for-the-buck visual mod you can do. At least for after dark.

Hopefully, I'll have mine already.

Who voted for the 2000-01 headlamps? Why? The only thing I don't like about the '02 is that UGLY amber reflector.
wait........
i still don't understand something..
180 dollars is just for the housing?
SO that means i need to buy my own real HIDS? yes/no
I need to buy H4s for the high beams? yes/no
I need turn signal bulbs ? yes/no
180 dollars if for everything.. someone please clarify this.
180 dollars a side for the real HID lighting seems to good to be true.

Re: wait........
$360 + shipping isn't exactly cheap. Cheaper than some of these aftermarket HIDs though. And a much better housing to boot.

1)Housings = $360 + shipping
2)Bulb Connectors = $??? [(2)9005, (2)Special Nissan plugs for turn signals, and some JERRY rigged connector for the HIDs and the daytime running lamp(I think).]
3)Wiring, wire connectors
4)LOTS of fuses! (Hopefully not too many)
5)Possibly a HIGH Wattage harness for less hacking. Any suggestions??? Does this plug into the stock 3-prong female harness or replace it?
I'm still not 100% convinced EVERYTHING for the HIDs is ALL contained on the back of the housing in the pictures. I'm not going to be until they are working in front of my own eyes. It's still up to a lot of LUCK and ingenuity.
Re: Re: wait........
It might get involving, but if there is a setup that works and we have solid directions, I think many will go for it.

Anybody want to help me track down some dead H4 bulbs and a HIGH Wattage harness for CHEAP?

Having the electrical schematics for the 2000/2001 and the 2002 side-by-side will aid greatly in determining the fuses, relays and harness/connector upgrades.
Although it will be a lot of time and expense, you may be able to use a dealer contact to get print outs of the diagrams for the different models.
Good luck - this is not a trivial plug-in update, but I think the results will be well worth the effort!

There is no way this price can include housing, ballast/starter, and bulbs... maybe 360 per side for this but no way it can all be 360 total. ill bet its 180 per side just for the housings and the hid system is extra. What does dave b have to say?

strut tower bars only cost around 12bux from wholesalers. and a lil less to fabricate.. but cost 45-130 for us consumers.

I know it's NOT a "trivial plug-in update". I do have a STRONG electrical and even stronger Engineering background, so I know what it should take to do this. I'm just not willing to PERMANETLY modify my car, so a pig-tail harness is the only way I'm willing to do it. If it's not possible that way, I will pass on the knowledge I learned and someone else will have less trouble finding a solution. Others can also use what I find out to use a few wires, fuses, and relays to make it work. I dunno yet.
ADAM,
Dave B. has repeatedly said it's $180 for the part seen in the pictures and that part contains ALL bulbs, a ballast, and I hope anything else necessary for the HIDs to work(ignitors, inverters, etc..) besides a power/ground source. If you don't sell your Panasonic HIDs and I'm successfull, I'd like to drive up to Phoenix and do a side-by-side comparison.
UPDATE!!!!!
Dave B. has located/made plugs for ALL three connectors, therefore LESS splicing and Jerry-Rigging required.
The '02 housing WILL BE SHIPPED on Monday! Don't forget I'm planning on doing MOST of the work over Labor Day weekend. I will post ANY pictures on my website with information as soon as I can.
Anyone know if a HIGH wattage harness for H4's plug into the female headlamp harness?
I need a SECURE way of connecting to the 3-pin H4 plug that the stock harness has. I definitely don't want to hack the stock H4 harness plug, so any ideas would be great! I have one, but it requires two DONOR H4 female plugs and some H4 bulbs working or not.

Otherwise just use those metal male tabs used and solder wires to it to make the harness.
