it was on I95 in Branford at about 2 in the morning. I look at some HID healights comming up fast behind me, so of course it peeked my interest!Anyways we couldn't go anywhere due to two Mack trucks in both lanes in front of us. I was at exit 54 and the truck in the fast lane moves over finally! I see the guy in the Benz come up on my a** and I was getting kinda p*ssed. I then droped it into 3rd and floored it, with the Benz in my draft he didnt budge much then he moves into the slow lane (side-by-side) and moves up next to me (very slowly I might add) and then something strange happened, he slowed down and then sped up and then slowed down again and I looked down at the speed-o and it read 135mph.... My friend in the passenger seat laughed and said "He hit his govener, hehe". So I slowed down a little to get next to him. just to dig the needle deeper I waved and then floored it again and went to 140+mph and blew him away due to UMMMM me having no govener. I dont care what anyone says My maxima does not have a speed limiter because at 140+ my car was still pulling(slowly)but still doing it. Anyways I slowed down by downshifting because my rotors are warped (again) and I looked in my rearview and I see the HIDS comming up fast, Yes it was the Benz and he pulled up next to me and rools down the passenger window and the guy looks at me and said "nice race" and I said "ya" and as he drove away I looked at the back of his car thinking it was a clk320 or somthing and as to my suprise it was a 430!!! Just thought id share the best race of my life!!!

Dang. Where do you live? Do you live in a big city?

In a city as big and expansive as Dallas, I can't even find a road to go 130 mph, much less 140.

Branford is like 2 towns out of a major city so I was headed towards the country. I live in Connecticut about 1 hour from NYC baby!

Actually Dallas is not that expensive comparing to other big cities, but there is plenty of open spaces where you can get it as fast as you want. Just like another new 190 G.Bush hwy that just opened up all the way till I-35.

Thanks. Yeah, expansive as in "wide, broad, lots'a space".

I haven't been to the G Bush Turnpike yet, might have to visit sometime soon. This highway was named after George Bush Sr.

GB Sr. also has a major airport named after him in Houston.

Nice kill! My car is too unstable at high speeds for me to go 120+. Need to lower it and get some stabilizer bars before I can drive that fast.

You need to drive over to Irving and jump on Hwy 161. I had my Eclipse up to 150mph between Hwy 114 and Hwy 183. In fact, by the south entrance to D/FW airport is where the cop finally caught me and gave me a ticket for doing 132... doh!!! In fact, a couple of years ago, the Dallas Morning News did a story on how speeding had become a problem especially in the Irving area. They listed the highest speeding tickets by highway and I was a good 10mph ahead of anyone else. Not necessarily something to be proud of, but since I had to pay $240 to settle the ticket, I might as well get some mileage out of it.

There's very little traffic on 161 and it's pretty straight.

I think it was in '97, when I got pulled over in Irving, off 183 and MacArthur, doing 125 or little more, 2 cops were waiting ahead of me, one was trying to catch up behind, anyway they didn't take me to jail, however they gave me ticket doing 115 / 60 zone. It didn't cost me much, since I had to come to negotiations w/ a prosecutor, however it went on my record for 3 yrs, well now its off my record

My deal was $35 to Joe Blow attorney, who got me "deferred adjudication" (ie probation) for 90 days. As long as I didn't get a ticket within that 90 days, the 132 in a 60 ticket didn't go on my record. I also had to pay half of the $410 fine to the city of Irving. Not too bad considering...

Hey, what do you look like? If you look pretty conservative and neat, cops are more likely to let you go easy, like they did with you. If you look like a punk or have an attitude, they'll give you a rough time.
