Is splicing the ashtray wires safe to hook up indiglo pedals?

I took the dash out, and then spliced the ash tray wires (not Cig lighter wires)....and hooked up my indiglo pedals...from my indiglo pedals i hooked up a black light...

Is this safe, can it cause harm or danger, start fire..etc?
I've been told by someone that hooking it up to the fuse block is more safe because if there's a chance of something happening wrong..the fuse will just blow out...but if u hook it up else where it can start fire and not blow the fuse out. But isn't everything connected to fuse block, so if something goes wrong with the ash tray wires, it all goes back to the same fuse and will just blow it out.

let me know please.
thanks.

i know what ur saying and you are right....(i think) every wire should trace back to the fuse box so eventually it should blow a fuse.....i have a lot of accesories hooked up liek you do and i have not had any problems yet..

dude which pedals did you get? i got the initial k pedals and i can't figure out how to get the accelerator on ... it's weird because there's no metal pedal behind the rubber for the accelerator like there is for the clutch or brake. Which did you get and how did you put them on??

Thanks
