How to remove air scoop screws
How to remove air scoop screws
I tried to remove my stock air scoop tonight but the two front screws holding it down would not come out. They just rotate continuously in either direction. How do I get these screws out? Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance.
Re: Re: How to remove air scoop screws
Actually they aren't screws they are push snaps. to remove the take a little patience.did it by placing a flathead screwdriver inbetween the "screw head" and pry it up slightly (this will compress the tabs) while you push the center of the snap eventually they will come up. I had to move the wiring harness out of the way.

From what I remember, those screws have split tips that are retained in the sheetmetal. See if you are able to compress the tips together so you can push the screw up.

this is going to sound stupid, but don't press down as hard with the screwdriver. yes they are push in compression tabs and therefore don't require that much pressure to turn. if at all possible just use the screw driver to turn only. don't press down and don't even let the weight of the screw driver sit on the head. if you do that it should come out with ease. mine did. just takes practice.
