2 FSTB install ?
2 FSTB install ?
I'm trying to install the Courtesy FSTB. It says after tightening ( a bit ) the end plate bolts to turn the bar unit until it is tight. Two problems:
- there is not enough room to turn the bar unit with end plates attached. Do I have to remove something else?
- how tight should it be?

The best thing to do is turn the bar before you drop one end of the end plate down. Turn the bar a little more than needed, and then keep back-turning the bar until the end plate slips back on the end. Do NOT force the end plate on there, cause then you will throw off the alignment since you are going to pull the top ends in closer than normal.
Just make sure when the STB is on, that is should not wobble back and forth in the direction of each end plate.

I concur with everyone else. Take the bar off of the mounts and bolt them down first, then add the bar and torque everything down to spec!! Thank you..drive through!

yeah make sure everything is very tight, so nothing jiggles.

The front end feels more like a rail effect now when I corner. It'll take some getting used to. Their instructions ar e way off. You definitely have to torque the end plates first because the bolt that attaches the bar unit is right above it. One more question:
Did anyone put washers on the inside of the endplate, one on each side of the main bolt? I noticed that the space was wide and I had to tighten (and kinda squish-in) the end plate to fit the main bolt.
