How to properly remove the stock intake? Start looking for bolts and clips, remove all relevant fasteners, remove pieces from vehicle.

To put it together, take a look at pics online or how it could possibly go, and deduce from there.

there is a sticky on cleaning your throttle body... I think it has the steps for taking the stock intake off, but basically its just a matter of unscrewing wherever you see a screw.. if your in the bay, swing by, I'll help you out

First, vqpower.com has a writeup on it. Second, this is a fairly obvious mod, no instructions needed. You can see what needs taking off and where everything goes, it took me about 15 minutes start to stop, including a cigarette break.

Unbolt the clamp from the throttle body, unbolt the 4 bolts on the MAF connecting to the upper airbox, and there is another bolt behind the airbox. Once you get that out, take off the air filter and you will see 3-4 10 mm bolts to get out the lower portion of the airbox.

Shouldn't of gotten the hot air intake, I don't know how to install it! lol

Sore losers have excuses. Everyone else has a reason...whether it be that they suck at driving or the car wasn't acting right.

In any case, this is not the place for bench racing. Race and you find out, simple as that. If you must, just look up the quarter mile times for those cars, compare to yours.

I hate to bash but your really wrong on this. I have the same type of ebay CAI in it fits. If you read the writeup on vqpower like i said you would see you have to cut a portion of your wheel well and fit the long tube in there. Theres mixed opinions but i personally feel that it provides colder air and better performance. These ebay intake dont go under the car like the injen ones on civics, they go into the wheel well, DO NOT DO NOT tell people not to buy something because you didnt know how to install it. I shouldn't even do this but here, http://www.vqpower.com/v2/readarticl...article_id=103, next time take peoples advice and read the info they offer, its useful.

If you have an aftermarket exhaust i found it to be quite a bit louder, when i had it with my stock exhaust it was not too noticeable. The two parts shouldnt be related yet it made a difference. Hang on to the longer piece, if/when you get a new battery make sure to get something with room for the pipe. I think red tops will work with it, and they are really good batteries, so might be a good excuse for an upgrade. Get us some pics of the engine bay, i've never heard of a battery getting in the way, but we'll try and help.

If he got this one here like i did http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/95-99...spagenameZWDVW

It doesn't fit right. I purchased two. One was for my friend. The pipe goes where the battery is. We had to move the battery tray over towards the passanger side, bolt the tray back down in a new location for it to work. Ghetto i know

That is pretty ghetto and sellers should not be allowed to sell that stuff if it doesnt fit. Honestly i would email the seller and force him to offer a return on the grounds that it doesnt fit as advertised.

I guess you get what you pay for. Its doing the job that it has to do, bringing cooler air through the fenderwell. I didn't expect place racing quality for 30 bucks, however I did expect it to fit without problems. No one has noticed the battery placement, but then again, no one on the org has seen it in person either. Honda people just looka nd say thats pretty nice!!!!!!!!! lol

actually i bought the same cai and it fits perfect. you just need to move the battery and drill new holes for it, mines was fine. after that align your intake and drill a 3in hole and like said b4 writes up tell you everything on how to do it. even though its ebay it works as well as place racing i compared it to my friends.

BOOM! his whole engine bay was up in flames. guy runs out car is up in flames. first time at the track and im terrified already lol. but about those times.. i have no idea how thsoe happened.. i thought us 5spd's were supposed to be in the low 15's? idk must have been a bad track or something?

You do realize that a reaction time has absolutely **** to do with your ET, right?

Ye reaction time doesnt mean a thing. And i dont know how you drive the car, but i can pull mid 15's if i power shift(no letting off the gas) and thats with street tires. I'd say the numbers dont lie, i've never seen those things to be off, your losing alot of time in shifts, and your probably shifting a bit early. Also did you heat the tires before hand? I'll typically dump the clutch at like 2500rpms, i've found it to be just right, no slippage but not a slow start.

Keep going to the track on the weekends and have fun, the more you go the more you learn, i'd say 2 more races and those numbers will come down. And dont be afraid of engine damage, VQ's are pretty reliable, but if you cant overcome the fear of redlining it then you really shouldnt race it at all. You gotta pay to play.

5spds do it in 15's,. However you need to put in the stock intake again. You expect an intake bought on ebay for that price, is going to outperform a Nissan engineered stock intake? If it ain't broke, why fix it?
