Would this be a decent deal? Older Rainbow CS265P

I found a set of...

Rainbow 6.5" Pro Vanadium Competition Components

for 200. Local pick up here in San Francisco.

I have yet to look at them in person, but obvously theyre a few years old. Any idea how far back?

If there in excellent condition, would it be worth the 200...or less cash price for them. Or Use the money for a new set.

I'm already looking to purchase a set of Rainbow germs or Sound line from Don for my Front Doors. These would be for Rear Fill, at most. Nothing extremely important. These would be in the rear parcel shelf of my G20, so I could just purchase these for the rears if the quality has not been surpassed by the entry level lines from Rainbow at this point in time.

put them as front stage duty. it'll be a shame to put them in the rears. my cousin was running a set, and they sounded pretty nice.

i think its worth the 200 imo if they're in good condition...which from the pics...seems like they are.

Hmm, I was thinking they *Used* to be pretty expensive, not much "bling" to them...but from the name, and the previous price they were high up on the list,,,years ago?

They certainly were higher up in the offerings. They utlizied the older version of the CAL25 tweet which is still loved by many. For $200 its a great deal despite their age of about 4yrs.

What happened Larry, no phone call?

Belive it or not, I picked up the phone twice....

and promptly hung up.

I sold a few cars over the weekend and 2 today. So there has been a multitude of phone calls, customer service, and closing sales.

Not to mention someone picked up an ipod I had on craigslist, and they couldn't figure out directions that involved 3 turns and an exit off the same freeway they got on.

I thought it would be rude to call, and have to say "i gotta go, call you back"

sh*et. I started work at 9, and i'm about to deliver this crappy 1999 Toyota Sienna.

Tommrow, I'll call ya with Mr. Citibank in hand.

hahaha.

I'm on the fence about buying 200 dollars worth of used speakers. Its almost like buying a condom that has a opened package. I'd like to be the first person to make things go in and out...

If you get'em just use the midbass for the rear, leave the tweets out, or pop'em in with the germ mids, and compare them to the cal25 VOF's.
