Is this statement true. That if you do a 5spd swap and keep the auto ecu in the car that car will be slower then if you had the manual ecu in the car.Is there any truth to that or is it bs.
Thanks guy

AFA the engine is concerned, the ECU has the same programming whether the ECU be for a 4AT or 5MT.
meaning what? iam askin is there a different in the shift points,is there goin to be lack of somthing in the manual because theres not a manual ecu in it.Basicly is it worth it to put the maual ecu in the car over haven the auto one in there already.
Now pardon me if I'm wrong, I'm not all too familiar with cars or anything, but with a 5MT do you not set your own shift points? Something about pushing that weird extra pedal and moving that lever thingy, makes it shift.
It's worth it if you don't want CEL's, yes. Otherwise, as I've said twice above, EC programming is the same on both computers.

Not really, not if you count the idle operation as part of the EC programming.
The auto ecu in a manual will give a high idle for about 5 seconds whenever you shift into nuetral, at stoplights and sitting in traffic that 5 seconds of 1,500+ rpm's idle tends to be really annoying imho.
