Clicking Sound on Passenger Side?

Yesterday morning when I started my car, I heard a clicking noise that sounded like it was coming from the passenger side INSIDE the car. I tried to reproduce the sound, but only got a couple of clicks. This morning...same thing. About 6 clicks the first time, and only a couple the next. Is there a main relay or something that controls ignition, fuel pump, etc? Other thoughts?

Of course, the stealership couldn't "replicate the problem", so I insisted that the service manager and a mechanic sit in the car with me when I started it up. They both heard it (imagine that) and were unanimous in their diagnosis: my battery is dying.

I kinda find that hard to believe, but I plan to get the batt tested this weekend. It just sounds like a bad relay or something. I'll be sure to update the thread for future reference.

usually something to do with the alternator receiving low power, I guess. I just alternators click when they have low power

It definitely wasn't the alternator. It sounded alot like a relay. It was just thirsting for juice. In my Acura, the main relay would do that when it wasn't getting a good current. But it usually wasn't a lack of power from the battery, but from the relay failing to grab the current it was given. Did that make sense? I need to go to bed.

lol, made perfect sense to me up until "but from the relay failing to grab the current it was given."

what would cause the relay to do that? is it bad for the engine?
