ummm where do you live? because getting j-chassis parts isnt too easy in america. unless you mean a34? 6th gen maxima in USA.

Hi,
I am from Australia.
We call the latest gen Maxima a J31. I think in US it is called A34???
I just wondered if a brake swap was easy and effective upgrade.

Yes, IMO, it's both easy and effective.

No one stated they weren’t. But yes, they are, depending on the offset/spoke design, you MIGHT be able to find some 16's.
