Has anyone used 225/15/15 tires on their 15" OEM wheels?

Has anyone used 225/60/15 tires on their 15" OEM wheels?

I was wondering if anyone is using now, or has used in the past, 15" tires with 225 section widths?

According to tire charts, they'll fit the stock 15 x 6.5 rims. The primary advantage of using them is the substantially wider tread width as compared with stock:

9" on the 225/60 versus 8" on the 205/65

The disadvantages are that the speedometer will be reading too slow by 2% and the addition of extra unsprung weight of each tire (not very much, mind you).

Please, tell me if you have used them, and what differences you noticed over stock.

There is no such thing as a 15 series sidewall (hell, lowest I've ever seen/mounted is a 30 series), so it's gotta be a typo. Besides, low profile 15s? That would just be odd.

I agree ... wasn't sure they made a "15" series SW, but .... lol I am certain now that would be damn near impossible! lol

I have seen "40" series SWs before on Porsche and BMWs ... but yea, not on 15 inch rims! LOL

I mounted some damn 30 series on reverse-mount 17s...

NEVER AGAIN.

Well, funny how typo's attract so much attention and comments.

Post corrected.

Thanks. It's good to know that at least one person understood what I was trying to say.
