HID bulb went out, can't get others to work, stumped

My passenger side bulb went out after having it for about two years now. I had a spare set ready for something like this. Pull out the old bulb, pop in the new one and reconnect the plugs. HID doesn't light up, not even a flash. Strange. Pull it out and try the other spare. Same thing.

Maybe the ballast went out? I grab an extra ballast I have laying around that I have yet to install into my uncle's car. Try to use that ballast on both of the spares, and it's the same thing.

So what the hell is going on? A speedy response would be much appreciated if possible, I don't want to get a ticket at night for having a light out.

See if the bulb and ballast from the driver side headlight works on the passenger side. Also take the bulb and ballast from the passenger side and see if it works on the driver side. Could be a wiring/harness issue on the passenger side. Check all connections and if there is a blown fuse.

I just had my driver side 6k bulb go out. Check your fuses and do what 808max-spec said

i had my hid on the driver side go out right after my wreck and when i was pulling fuses to check them the inline on from off the battery had horrible corrosion on it also the ground one was hanging on by a thread a metal and causing a bad ground
check ur ground and check ur fuses and clean all the corrosion off of the terminals and connectors!

Thanks for the post, it turns out it was a dead ballast. The extra ballast I had doesn't work with the wiring I have in there right now, but works with the wires that were supplied with it in the kit. I guess the polarities are reversed on the connector?

Ordered a 50W HID Kit, can't wait to hopefully be impressed.

my passenger side hid used to go out once in a while. and my foggies never went on lol. but i recently had to put in a new knock sensor and all of a sudden the foggies work and the hids are even brighter...idk what the mechanic did and obviously a knock sensor wont fix the hid problem but ask a mechanic
