Does anyone know the cheapest place to buy front crossed drilled and slotted rotors? I bought all 4 2 years ago and the fronts are warped. I would just buy stock but it would look tackey with rear slotted.

cheapest is to buy china blanks, and go at them with a drill. same thing you'll get from cheap cross-drilled

 

I'm confused as to why you would want to know the cheapest place to buy them from, since it seems like you already learned your lesson there?

Brembo blanks x-drilled/slotted off of ebay is where I've always gotten them, never had a problem.

in 2 years they warped. I thought maybe with all the smart people here

I got my 13" cobra rotors for like $90 shipped from brakeplanet.com The quality of product is very good, but it took a LONG time to get them. They used to offer dimpled rotors, which is what turned me on to the company. I don't know if they still offer that, but either way they're really customer friendly. I ended up getting 3 sets of their custom blended performance pads, which they make in-house. Their in-house brake pad guy has worked for an F1 team and for hawk designing pads, and now does custom pads for brake-planet. I have their semi-metallic pads on and there's almost NO dusting and the wear rate is the best I've ever seen.

The long receiving time was because their CNC guy got sick or something and they had to find a new guy to make their rotors. Thats why I got the free pads (like $120 worth). Now that they're back up to speed, I'd think that the return time would be standard.

I reccomend that you call brake-planet, and ask for "Lane". He helped me out tremendously. If you tell him that I sent you I'm SURE he'll help you out...because he told me so. PM me for more about that, though.

Oh yeah, and PLEASE don't drill your rotors yourself. Aside from having to drill like 50 holes in each side of the rotor, you'd probably have the drill slip and muck up the face of the rotor. Unless you have your own CNC machine that can ensure a 90 degree drill and 45 degree chamfer, you'll just end up with retarded looking rotors that will more than likely crack. Plus you'll probably drill into a cooling vein on the inside and crack them as soon as you try to stop. That is the worst, most retarded idea I've ever heard of...and I'm sure he was being sarcastic when he gave that advice. Then again, I'll just assume you were being sarcastic when you said you'd actually do it.

i just buy some duralast rotors, beat the hell out of them, then return them and get new ones. change them about every 8-12 months and its about an hour job to change them.

and if you drilled some blanks yourself wouldnt they be unbalanced? or is that not an issue?

 

The point was that the cheapest crossdrilled will already be so bad that you could do better with your own drill.

However, I bought crossdrilled front rotors for $77 on eBay two years ago and have never had a single balance, warp, or cracking issue with them. I'd post a link, but the seller doesnt have anything in his store right now.

From the responses you've gotten, I'd go with the brakeplanet idea. It seems that Traxtar944 really looked into it prior to making his decision and knows what hes talking about.
