Tire Size for 5.5 Gen (2003 I35)

Hi Guys,

I've got stock tires and rims @ 215-55R17

Is it safe or advisable to run 235-50R17?

I know they'd be wider but should still fit the rim, would this soften up the ride a little?

Thanks!

From the various set-ups i've had, a taller, narrower tire have always felt softer and comfier than a shorter tire, wider tire.

235 isn't supposed to be on a 7" wide rim. i think if yo usearch the informatino would be easily found.

225 is the "widest" on a 7" rim. i have put a 235 tire on the 225 rim without problems, as have money others.

btw, the 215/55 has a very miniscule amount of more sidewall. so the 215 would probably provide a intsy tinsy bitsy more cushion.
