How to change thermostat

FIRST! I looked at the fsm and did some searching, but they aren't very detailed. Also, the link for the thermostat change guide is broken, so no luck there.

Is there a guide on how to do this that is more than 3 sentences long? Do I have to completely drain the antifreeze from the car? Do I have to remove anything to get at the thermostat?

Thanks!

Post in the stickies works for me

Then again, I actually read.

If you haven't changed coolant in a while, might as well drain it all and fill up with fresh. Otherwise, a fair amount will come out when you remove the hose, and some more when you take the thermostat physically out.

The post above details everything. 1 clamp, 3 bolts, and you're done..

The FSM is perfectly detailed:

That's all you need to do...

Factory gasket is superior and can be reused if you are careful.
