The front 3 plugs are easy to do, no prob.
The rear 3 plugs are not covered in the 2 books I have like they don't exist. How do you get to the 3 rear plugs?
I tried removing the small cap over the red plastic coil and could not move the coil to get to the plug underneath. Do I need to remove the metal tube and all 3 coils at once?
Help?

 

Your not reading those books well enough.

Those are the fuel injectors not the spark plugs...

If you need to replace the three rear INJECTORS than you need to remove the upper intake manifold.

To replace the front 3 spark plugs take off the silver colored plastic cover that says VQ on it.

To replace the rear 3 spark plugs there are gaps in the upper intake manifold to take them out.

Go back further twards the fire wall and look down between the intake runners. You'll see the plugs for the 3 rear coil packs. The pic's you have are showing the fuel rail and injectors, not the spark plugs.

You'll need a longer extension to get down the rear spark plug tubes to access the plugs.

 

three seperate threads on this kids injectors. He thinks they are spark plugs. So close to flaming.

take the 405 to I5 to the slawson cut off, get out and cut of your slawson. then go 2 blocks left past the throttle body and BAM you found the other three plugs.

 

lol yeah i already told him what the pics are in a thread that was bumped from 2005

 

Also on the rear drivers side coil you will have to take the bracket off that supports the evap canister purge control valve 2 12mm nuts( someone please correct me if i am wrong) hope this helps you out.

This has too be a joke right? I seen some crazy things in forums, but if you can't tell the difference between a fuel injector and an ignition coil you should NOT be working on your car. DANGER!! Will Robinson DANGER !!!

Yes, Definitely remove the metal tube. Before you do that, be sure to light up a nice, fresh cigarette and have it in your mouth while pulling the tube out.

 

Use a metric screwdriver to.

 

watch out for the muffler bearings to. you have to remove those before you can get to the spark plugs. a metric hammer will do the trick though.
