Bose SoundSystem SUCKS!!!!

Ok, so my first radio (the orignal of the car) started to skip when playing a CD, brought it to the dealer and they changed it for another one (under warranty thank god!)

With the second radio the speakers on the drivers side both front and back would be staticky and sometimes would not work at all, again only when playing a CD. Brought it to the dealer and they changed it for another one. Apparently there was a bullentin out for this problem.

NOW, this 3rd radio is starting to skip again when playing a CD and ya i am getting really piseed since I have changed my radio 2x in less then a year and a half!! I just hope that when i go to the dealer it will skip so they can change it, cause we all know how the dealers can be!

I just wanted to share this with all of you. And does anyone have pictures of an aftermarket radio installed....anything besides the crapy BOSE.

Take care guys!

Join the club. I'm on my 5th Bose head Unit. Just to let you know, they don't give you new head units, they just give you refurbished ones. if you pull out the head unit, you'll see all red stickers that say "refurbished". Gotta love Nissan for that!

welcome to the club.
I've modified my HU already by putting some tape on the back of that ribbon. It has been trouble free for a long time with speakers cutting out.
I do have a problem with skipping because of the cold and don't know how to solve it.

The reason you probably think that blose is the best is probably because you haven't heard the potential of aftermarket systems and how much better they sound.........per your statement of being on your 3rd blose now.

Then again, everyone's expectations and needs are different.

Believe me, us 5 and 5.5 gen guys have good reason to "hate on" the Blows HU.

Now, I had the Bose in my '90 300ZX and it worked fine (other than having an idividual amp for every speaker. I was fortunate mine stayed working.)

Yes, that "some" that just happen to be bad or defective on 5.5 Gens has affected a lot more people here than you know. Search around the 5th Gen forums and you'll see what we mean.

To the thread starter:

We are well aware, and thanks for sharing. Also take a look here: http://www.innerbean.com/housecor/bose_cutout_fix.html

I'm also locking the thread up for now, because there already a few discussions out there on this.
