Best tire and wheel combination
Best tire and wheel combination
I have 4th gen. Max. and wondering what is best wheel + tyre combination?
Is it lightweight 15 or lightweight 16, is there much differnece?
If I take lightweight 15 I need to take higher tyre also?
Does it gives some effect?
If it gives effect then how much 0,5 sec per 1/4 mile or less?
Very much is used Kosei K1 15 inch?
If I take same weight 16 inch is it better?
Of course I plan take also lightweight tyre also+
aNY SUGGESTIONS?

16 inch rim or better yet a 15 inch like you mentioned. try to find rims that are 11-15 lbs each. will be considerably lighter than stock SE rims which are around 19-20 lbs. each.
It wouldnt be out of reach to drop a .5 but you would need to reduce your unsprung weight by at least 30-35 lbs off the wheel and tire combo and use a drag radial or slick up front.

But you drive in drag competitions 16 rims +tyres?
Howcam? Why don't you use 15 rims?

I'd say if you're getting a set of track only wheels, go 15"... otherwise if you're just running the same setup on the street as on the track (ie street tires) then 16" or your mileage will suffer (cruising at higher rpm). Either way, the lightest possible combo is best (as your budget will allow, like Neal said).
i searched and found out that me stock 98SE wheels are 19.6 pounds.how much do the 15 inch steelys weigh?would it be wise if you were going to buy lightweight 15's, to just get two for the front?is that where all of the difference is,like the rears really dont matter.for someone on a budget, who was looking for track only wheels, would the millenia 15's be the best bet?thanks.................
