The consensus is the same. use NGK. only use NGK. use any NGK you want, but you'll be fine as long as it says NGK on it.

Okay, this thread is obviously going nowhere.
to liven things up a little bit, people running NGKs put out which NGKs you run, and, if applicable, why you chose that plug.
NGK's website shows these plugs for the maxima(both vg and ve)
Standard, V-Power, G-Power, Laser Platinum, OE Laser Iridium, Iridium IX

thank you. i have always ran NGK in all my vehicles any way. i just wanted to know who thought what was the best and why.

LOL! CLARITY gets answers. OP was kinda vague, thats why there have been obvious answers.

as for me, I have bosch, but I need to replace those and the wires.

I use ngk v power only..

The ve comes with ngk platinums stock,and are recommended by the manufacturer, but i have had no problems at all running v power coppers for years. you have to replace the v powers more often,but much cheaper then the laser plats($12X 6= $72) VS. V power( $3X 6=$18)

but as matt said prior..Use any plug you want..as long as it's a NGK plug..

NGK Iridium IX is the only way to go if you have the extra $$ they cost about 9 bucks a plug I have ran them on my maxima for about 2 years now and they still look clean and still has strong responses.

i used bosch plats for about 4 months and immediately noticed a loss in low end power. then i joined the org, and got ngk v-powers and have been satisfied. a fixed o2 sensor harness didn't hurt either (that one wire alone jumped my fuel economy up by a solid 40%, sometimes higher) but the broken studs are working against me. overall, I regret buying those stupid bosch plugs and i have returned to the stock Nissan plug wires against the Duralasts, hoping that the OEM stuff is better.

while we are on the topic of ignition......

anyone have a preferred cap/rotor combo in their VGs?

They just don't work as well due to their internal design. My frist max has bosch plats in it and I put in NGK v powers and it ran smoother and a little stronger. And for the VE's Ive read it contributes to coil pack failure.

NGK is the way to go...I run them in my Maxima and my Ski-Doo...I think my winter beater has AC Delco plugs tho...

Fact: 75% of OE plugs are NGK
Fact: Most newer european cars no longer use Bosch plugs from the factory

Bosch has become an autozone plug to me. they are cheap and made to cheap specs so that people can feel good about putting in a platinum plug that doesn't cost $5

just got the v-powers installed. BIG difference in idle. haven't yet gotten to driving it, but i can tell by revving its gonna be funner to drive.
wires are on order. get those tomorrow...

(btw, bosch platinums (FTL...) came with the car.)

bosch work in some cars- ones that the engine was designed with those plugs in mind. they are quality in some conditions. many airplanes spec bosch avaition plugs (which are $20-60 EACH), and are not allowed by FAA to use anything but what's on the spec sheet.

but for every Nissan application I've seen, NGK is the stuff to use.

the audi runs on NGK...even on the OEM one you get from the dealer...it's NGK plat
