Replacing my injectors
Replacing my injectors
Alright so i went and tested my injectors today and well the number 5 injector is open. So it looks like Ill be pretty busy this weekend. Do you guys have any suggestions to make this tune up go alot faster and smoother?

seriously though, planing ahead, keeping all tools at arms reach, lights, working indoors
Make sure you have the required gaskets, and do a little extra maintenance while you are there. Change fuel lines connecting rails, change hardened vacuum hoses etc. clean TB, intake plenum etc if not done before
It can easily be done in an afternoon. Intake might take you 30 45 min if you never have taken it of just to find out what comes of of what. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND SOME VISE GRIPS TO TAKE OF SCREWS ON THE CAPS! If you just use a philips it is likely to strip it out. Before putting intake on cycle key a fey times and let the pump run and check for leaks. I have done this job in just over an hour. (Taken intake off ALOT!)

on Vise Grips. It can be done with a screwdriver, but its size and shape has to be exactly matched to those screws. To take the injector out, loosen it by spinning it around a few times, then put one of the screws back in and use it for leverage to pry up against the bottom of the harness connector.

I also replaced all the injector cap screws with hex heads I got at a local hardware store. Now they are really easy to get off any time. I really have to get back in there and check all my injector resistances again. Oh well at least it'll be easy.
Any way I think they are 8mm screws or something like that, and using that and a proper wrench is so much easier then the stupid phillips screws they come with.

I tried to do that last time but didnt find any that matched.
