FREAKING YPIPE!!!!

God damn

I had my budget y for like 3 years now. No problems until a few weeks ago, where I started hearing weird sounds.

So I looked under there and found my flex section was being eaten away by rust.

So today I had some time and I drove around to find someone who could put in a new flex. First shop said 120bucks for a 1hour job, i lold and left.
Second place said they won't touch aftermarket ypipes.

So at this point I am better off buying it used off the org, and installing it myself.... GAY.....

Now you know why they are so cheap. You get what you pay for.

Yeah I know.

I was looking into Cattman now, but they don't make them for the 4th gen anymore.
I wish Stillen made the equal length ones again. I would jump on that sooooo fast

Yeah, I just need something that will last another year or so...

Maybe thats the only option.
And one more question, does the WS one have a hanger attachment? because I know the budget one doesn't, and it loves to rattle around under the car...

+1 I didn't have mine for 3 years...but it was a good year and a half with just some surface rust. When I got it, I could tell there was some silver paint on the welds and stuff. I figured it would be worthless and start to rust in 6 months...nope, held up pretty well. If you just threw some rust-oleum on it once a year, it would last forever. Excellent fit and no bees!

EDIT: hanger attachment=yes. Mine came with one. It was basically an exhaust clamp with a rod welded to it, but it got the job done. Mine is actually on my Cattman headers right now...just for some extra support.

Warpspeed lists their stuff on ebay, you may check it out...I think I got my aluminized y-pipe for like 199 shipped, with the hanger.

Why wouldnt the shop touch aftermarket stuff anyway? I thought it would be the other way around with the OEM stuff instead. No rust in Cali FTW~! But my flex section is being scraped away though...

Hahaha, yeah, I figured since it was SS I wouldn't have to worry about it, well I guess I was wrong.

I really don't even want to deal with this anymore. When I got my budget put on, I couldn't do it myself because the stock exhaust was rust to ****, so I had a shop do it. They charged me 175 to install this. I was pissed but like I said nobody would touch it. I went to a bunch of shops to see if they could just torch the bolts, but everybody said nope. So I had to go to this speed shop and have them put it on.

ughhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

I've had a Warpspeed y-pipe for nearly 2.5 years and it has not a speck of rust on it. Not even surface rust. It's aluminum, too. All I do is keep it clean during the winter real well

HOW MUCH BS?

I feel your pain. I hate exhaust, at least my exhaust system cause LOTS of rust means i need shop help. My flex pipe has a rip in it, I went to meineke and asked how much to do it. They said 400! So outrageous i didn't even laugh i know they can do it in about a half an hour. They told me the price after telling me i need a whole new exhaust (from y-pipe back) because its "rusted". Its an exhaust system, its gonna rust (even though its bad it doesn't make noise or create fumes). Anyways, i went to midas they said 250, so i'll just wrap it w/exhaust wrap for now and probably get a warpspeed exhaust system.

Anyone know if I'll need a muffler shop to take any rusted crap off or should i be alright by myself?

Yeah.
And doesn't it should like **** in the rain?
I know when I drive when its pouring out I can hear the pipe rumbling around under the car, like its a bowling ball rolling around. I hate it. It sounds so bad when I drive by people.

When I am driving around with the windows down, and no car next to me the exhaust sounds GREAT!. But when I drive on a bridge or a car passes me, I can hear all sorts of noises from it. It sounds like metal rattling around or something horrible.
