How often should I clean JWT intake?

I know this question has probably been asked many times but I didn't want to do a search. I was wondering how often I should clean my JWT pop charger?

K&N recommends cleaning every 50,000 miles. That's how they justify their "1 million mile warranty." That's 20 total cleanings the filter can conceivably take before the cotton element wears out.

Personally, I clean my filter every 10,000 miles. If the filter will last 20 cleanings, that's 200,000 miles worth on the filter, which is far longer than my Maxima will last.

I also recommend taking it off everytime you get your oil changed and banging it against the ground to get all the loose dirt out.

Just curious if the K&N cleaning kit be used on the JWT filter?

it tells you to do that on the K&N cleaner instructions... not too hard, but enough to knock out and junk that has collected... I was amazed to see how much came out of it..

Yes, use the K&N cleaning kit.

I waited a long time...the car felt like it was stalling. After I cleaned it...smooth driving.

What is the life on the JWT filter? Why did I buy the Stillen? Why does anyone pay almost double for the Stillen?

People purchase $tealin' products for the name brand. I believe the Stillen Cone also has CARB exemption for CA emissions. But I have never had a problem passing visual emissions check with my JWT cone, and I live in a super strict "phase 2" district in California (which has tougher emissions laws than the rest of the state).
