put them in kick panels instead--that way they'll be down with the mids (where they should be). You don't want your highs closer to your ears than your mids/lows. All frequencies should be as close together as possible.

That driver would not have nearly the off-axis dispersion characteristics that a surface mounted dome type would.

If you are going to mount it low, it would need to be directed upward somewhat so that the element is clearly visible.

OP are you sure you want horns in your car? I find them a little harsh personally when you are that close to them.

yup. super cheap. I'm doing this the way it sounds good to me.

They can be harsh, but i'm only giving them about 50watts each, just to add extra to the tweeters I have in the front.

I still want them in the door, so any suggestions?

not a bad idea at all....

They are rateed 150 watts rms each. I gave them 50watts and I was happy. Anything louder should be considered dangerous.

What about MDF rings? Do you think I can get something for a 4" speaker and fit it in there?

i have a 5.5 gen and i got a set of tweets where the stock ones where in the front... and put another set in the back door panel with the other mid.. it sounds damn great to me and others who sat in my car in all seats...

i cut a hole and used a dremel sander for a even hole... if you want pics i can upload some for you...

This thread is hilarious.

There is no way they're going to fit behind the door panels. If you're looking for HOW to cut your panels, use a hole saw, but it's a waste because it still won't fit.

Find other locations, like the A pillars as previously mentioned. The A pillars are easier/cheaper to replace too.

No matter what you do, the depth of those is going to require glass, and that still doesn't solve the nightmare of dual tweeters.

I'm used to being around club speakers alot and now after year, sound is just not complete to me without em.

I've got MB Quart PCE components with the tweeters in the stock bose locaton. I'm going to see if I can get some kind of MDF rings cut for them to fit, or just glass them in the doors.

Dual tweets, theres noting wrong with that. I have a sound stage that I (this includes me & myself) am use too. Thats why I'm tryin to do this kind of setup. I've stick them there with screws just to test out if thats the proper place to have em.
