Replacing axle seal

Hey guys my drivers side axle seal is leaking and I was reading up on how to install a new seal using either a large socket or a seal installer. Well I am having trouble getting the old one out. I was reading alot and everyone seemed to just "pop" there old one out. Any tips or tricks on how to get mine to pop out?

I just use a flat head screw diver and work the seal out .just be carful not to damage the case.but they also make a couple of differnt tools to remove seals that you can probably rent (or borrow if you have an autozone) that work real well.

seal puller kit (thats what the guy at the counter called it) but its still APITA to take off for me it was. but you do need to be careful and take your time cause if the case does get stratched up real bad the seal wont sit right and well you will have the same problem and more....good luck man the force is strong in you!!!

keep us posted on how it goes for you
