To all those with Aftermarket Exhausts...

Hello all,

This is for anyone who has a Greddy, Apexi, Cattman, or any other aftermarket performance exhaust....

Does your exhaust have a small crush or flat spot right behind the resonator to clear that exhaust tunnel bracket thing???? Or is the exhaust designed some other way as to avoid that on the piping?? Explanations are appreciated...Pics are even greater.

I searched around but couldnt find exactly what I was lookin for in terms of pics and whatnot.

Thanks

The Apexi WS catback does not. Mine fits just fine and does not rub that bracket. With new exhaust hangers, it fits much tighter into the body than the stock exhaust.

Mine is a custom 2.5", and I ended up removing that bracket because it hit up against it.

Greddy Sp2, rarely if ever rubs against it and it is a full mandrel bend so no crimp in that section.

Cattman exhaust, no crimp here. But I do remeber on the stock exhaust there is a crimp..looks liked it was crushed with a machine press.

have a cattman 2.5 b-pipe. the exhaust bracket doesn't even clear the pipe anymore due to its size. you don't really need it though.

the stock is crushed like that just to clear that section.

Does that crimped area affect performance much?

Well the knock-off Greddy exhaust I have in the garage is 2.5 inches ID all the way through......untill it reaches that crimp, where its only 2.25 inches ID.

If you think about it, the exhaust is only as big as the smallest restriction (aka crimp after resonator).....so in actuality, my exhaust is only 2.25 inches ID.

Mine is supposedly a warpspeed b-pipe. No crimp, 2.5 mandrel bends the whole way through. Mine rests on the bracket though. The exhaust only came with 2 hangars on the muffler and that is it, so that bracket is playing a big role in supporting my exhaust lol.
