exhaust problem, need opinions and help...

allright, put a warpspeed y and magnaflow cat on, problem is this: i put a pacestter cattback on and it sounds like an oversized honda!! really ricey and the mid-pipe does'nt clear the rear axle, ( not even an inch of clearance ) so every bump i hit i hear a loud bang!!! what can i put on to replace this crappy cattback so i dont have to rip my ears off!!!!! i listened to all of the sound clips and the only problem is is that the sound will change after a few weeks and sound different then when new as in my case with the pacestter. thanks in advance...

the actual sound of the muffler does change after a few weeks and i was hoping that someone with a warpspeed had luck with another cattback set-up that sounded good. the pacestter sounds horrible imo. and, i listened to all the clips that applied, not all the clips, you know?? anyone else chime in please.

i like the way a flowmaster 40 series (80 series too) muffler sounds on the maxima. cattman for the win of course. 5th gen muffler is a great choice too. 2000-2001 i believe fits 95-99's

heard lot of good reviews for 5th gen muffler. check the classifeds for a muffler or catback. i heard pacestters dont have too much longevity

We said 5th gen axle back, which is essentially just the muffler. I would go with a Cattman b-pipe and 5th gen rear section. ~ 300$.

Or, toss a fairly large resonator (22-24") on there and add a 5th gen rear section. About 1/2 the price of the Cattman.

Are you sure that you adjust the exhaust system properly it is a slip and slide with u bolt type junction. So you have the ability to clear that rear axle beam if you took your time! If not... let a muffler shop cut to fit and install a big resonator (28" overall lenght with a 24" body) go to ZZ performance and click on their exhaust tab! That'll quiet the whole thing down!
