PRCAI for 00VI. *PICS

haven't seen anyone do this yet and i really didn't like the idea of my filter just sitting in the hot engine bay so i decided to go back to the PRCAI style.

went and bought a 6'' straight pipe extender and cut it down to 5''.
also had to cut off both of the little nubs on the midpipe.
i think the 5th gen mid pipe would of worked better as far as a smooth installation. the 4rth gen was really stubborn.

You need your 'enjin' sticker on it.

hey bro! still enjoying the 00vi?? i can't stop flooring it! haha

dude! loving the intake. that is on my list of to-do's this week before the track on saturday. where exactly did you get this "pipe extender"? its kind of difficult to tell what it is. i'm either going this route or just getting pvc pipe. ...your way definatly looks better.

i see your post said 30hp....but for real.....did you notice any power difference with changing the intake?

edit: sorry....i see now what the pipe extender is. just a pretty pipe with pretty straps ....but where did you get it at? hardware store or something?

btw...how did you get your sway bar to fit? mine hits where i have the plate for the throttle cable...its scarey because sometimes it feels a little loose in corners or something...

yeh, i'm loving the 00vi! sad thing is, my rpm switch still hasn't come in yet so i have it temp wired to a toggle switch. it was lightly raining today and i floored it just for kicks and it instantly bounced off the rev limiter. kinda scared me cause that never happened before the 00vi.

i got the pipe extender at PEP BOYS. its a spectre pipe, Part #: 8718 i believe. downside is, its made out of plastic and on one end it has an adjustable clamper but i would rather replace that w/ a rubber coupler but either way still works.

i got my "strut" bar, not sway, from ebay. i dunno which one u have but my sits just fine.

yeah i meant strut bar.... and i have the stock one....i guess i will have to figure out another bracket or something....

did you feel any difference with the different intake setups? i know on my USIM i could feel a big difference in the lower rpm with the short setup or the long tube intake.

i know man...00vi is awesome! i'm finally getting a little more used to it so i'm not bouncing off the rev limiter every shift

nothing i could really tell. though i'm sure it helped in the temp reduction a little.

Glad to see you got it working for you! I used a 6" straight pipe to add a little length to my intake back when I had that 00VI, but never used the CAI piping.

o realy? i could never really tell the difference but how did you test yours?
lowend or highend pull?

allthough it prob won't show you noticeable gains on a dyno (both cai and short ram) i'm still curious to see how much more or less it'll give me w/ the longer CAI setup.

Yeah the V-AFC is for sale to help pay for stuff for the Talon since it's not doing anything on the Max right now. The Talon is awaiting money to buy parts. I'm buying an OEM master gasket set, ARP head studs, a water pump, and timing & balance belts and replacing everything all at once. As it is, though, I take the car out on a short joy ride once every couple days because I can't resist and need to re-learn to drive stick

i just tested it with freeway on ramps and just normal driving. the short ram intake seemed much more responsive and much faster.

which is weird though...because i know for a fact that my old USIM was faster with the long CAI.....this is why i don't know if its in my head or what...but it seems like the 00vi like short ram better..
