last minute question: should I run my 8-guage ground wire from my amps into a power distribution block which then has a nice big 4-guage ground wire to the body? Or should I just ground the 8-guage wires separately? I think the distribution block looks nicer, and I already have all the stuff, but I was looking at Crutchfield's tips and they say the amps should be grounded individually around 1/2 to 1 inch from eachother!!

What gauge wire is your power? Your ground should be the same gauge. And yes, you can use a distribution block on ground too. You can ground everything by itself but then it starts getting ugly and one too many wires. If you do plan on grounding through the distribution block, keep the wires as short as possible, less then 18 inches.

 

I'm using the rockford fosgate dual amp kit with the distribution blocks. I think each amp is using an 8 guage wire to the block connected to a 4 guage that I grounded to one of the strut bolts in the trunk behind the truck liner. If you ground it there, I recommend sanding down the painted surface for a clean ground. If you don't ground it properly, you'll hear the engine noise and if you drive a manual transmission like myself, you'll hear the terrible engine noise. I had the noise for a while when i grounded the wire to the rear strut bar (not a good place to ground, too much painted surface and does not make a solid contact to the metal of the chasis). So if you use the blocks which i suggest, make sure you ground the 4 guage properly.

 

i found a good some good grounding spots next to the jack, just move the lining aside. i woundnt get the dist. block for the ground wires because they cost. if you got the funds thought, more power to ya.
